According to HODL15Capital data, as of September 1, BlackRock's IBIT has become the world's largest institutional Bitcoin holder, holding 357,509 Bitcoins. MicroStrategy ranks second with 226,500 Bitcoins, surpassing Grayscale's GBTC (225,671).

Fidelity's FBTC ETF ranks fourth with 178,349 Bitcoins, and stablecoin giant Tether ranks fifth with 75,354 Bitcoins. Other major institutional holders include ARK Invest/21 Shares' ARKB (37,147) and Bitcoin mining company Marathon Digital (25,000). It is worth noting that MicroStrategy announced its transformation into a "Bitcoin Development Company" earlier this year and was the largest known institutional holder before the emergence of Bitcoin ETFs.
